Another year, another award for Al Pacino who now has 4 Golden Globes. He took home the Best Actor in a Mini-series or TV Movie prize for You Don't Know Jack.

Hit show Glee won Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical for the second year in a row. It also won Best Supporting Actor for Chris Colfer who plays gay misfit Kurt Hummel, and Best Supporting Actress for Jane Lynch who plays the Glee club's nemesis Sue Sylvester.

Steve Buscemi won Best Dramatic Actor for his role as a Prohibition-era crime boss in HBO's Boardwalk Empire which in turn won Best Drama Series.

Other acting honours fell to Jim Parsons who scored Best Actor, Comedy or Musical for The Big Bang Theory; Katey Sagal won Best Dramatic Actress for Sons of Anarchy; and Laura Linney added a second Golden Globe to her collection for Best Actress, Comedy or Musical for The Big C.

Newlywed Claire Danes won Best Actress, Mini-series or TV Movie for Temple Grandin. French-German 3 part series Carlos, about hitman Carlos the Jackal, took the award for Best Mini-series or TV Movie.
