Robert Pattinson's vampire father in the Twilight franchise,has filed divorce papers in a court here to end his marriageto Jennie Garth.
The 38-year-old has earlier announced that he was endinghis 11-year-old marriage to Garth with whom he has threedaughters.
Facinelli cited 'irreconcilable differences' for thesplit. He also wants joint physical and legal custody fortheir three minor daughters.
In the documents, filed by Facinelli's attorney TerryLevich Ross, the actor notes the date of separation is January1, 2012.
Meanwhile, in an interview to People magazine Grath hassaid she tried to save the marriage but Facinelli did not try.
"I was very resistant. I didn't want it to happen. It tookme some time to come to peace with it. He did what he needed to do. I dont want to walk forhim. Or Do I? Of course I wish he had wanted to try harder,try again, try something else," she said.
The couple was married in 2001 and announced the splitearlier this month in a joint statement that said, "While wehave decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deeplove and devotion to our children."
