Barely a week ago, Twinkle Khanna shared with us one of her childhood photos on Instagram. But, it looks like her book of memories has more pages that she would like to share. Today, she took us down memory lane and showed us a photo from her days at New Era High School in Panchgani. The class photograph isn't very different from the ones we ourselves have had in our schools; it shows the pupils seated and standing with their teachers in their midst, all of them promptly dressed for the photo session. Twinkle Khanna may miss her school days but she is definitely not missing her hairstyle. "I definitely don't miss those funny haircuts but I do recall my years at New Era with a deep wistfulness," she wrote in the caption.
For sure, the hairstyles are nowhere close to the ones that teens of this decade love to sport. But the blazers, tidy skirts and polished black shoes are reminiscent of the days we've all left behind. "I would say that those were clearly, as the cliche goes, the best days of my life," she wrote.
Twinkle Khanna's post was a part of "My School Memory Challenge" by an NGO working towards girl child education. She pointed at the issues that girls' education may face due to the pandemic.
Twinkle Khanna always had a flair in stringing memories to make a point. Last week when she posted her throwback photo with sister Rinke Khanna and aunt Simple Kapadia, she poignantly wrote how memories "could prove detrimental as a daily habit, but it could provide occasional respite."
Her memory lane on Instagram consists of her father, late actor Rajesh Khanna's video too. Twinkle Khanna couldn't stop herself from saying how she and her son share facial features with him. But she added, "...the world has pieces of him embedded in their hearts." As she put it in her caption, the legendary actor still lives on.
When Twinkle Khanna is not busy reminiscing about the old days, she is encouraging her fans to do what she does best. Dip into books to keep learning. She often leaves her photos with books in hand to share her latest readings with her followers. Here's a photo where she was seen with Isaac Asimov's sci-fi novel The Complete Robot. We are all eyes on the purple shirt she is matching with the book cover. Twinkle Khanna can never stop being a student but she can bring her own colours to it now.
