Hand-me-downs from grandparents are so much more than just gifts. They come wrapped in memories, love and warmth. Reminding us of this is actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna. In her latest Instagram post, Twinkle has shared a glimpse of her nani's sewing kit with social media users. Explaining that the kit is extremely special to her, she said, “My nani's sewing kit - An inheritance that goes beyond tiered boxes and yarn. If she could see this I am sure she would wrinkle her nose and say, ‘Tina, give it to me, I have to redo your chain stitch'.”
The photo features a lovely pink sewing kit filled with several skeins of yarn in multiple colours, needles and other tailoring tools. We can also see a white shirt with blue embroidery work on the pocket, which is presumably something Twinkle is working on. Along with the caption, she also added the hashtag, #WhenFingersFlyAndTheMindStaysStill.
Fans responded to the post with heart emoticons. One user said, “It is beautiful.”
Recently, Twinkle revealed that she spent Mother's Day stitching. In a photo, where she is seen sitting with her mother, actress Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle wrote, “Mother's Day spent in the best way possible in these circumstances. We both can't keep our hands still. She is sketching, I am doing my embroidery and we continue chatting all through.”
In addition to engaging herself in COVID-19 relief work and stitching, Twinkle is also keeping herself busy with some reading. The bibliophile had shared a list of book recommendations with her Instagram followers. “Book recommendations-all short stories. From what I read or re-read recently. Get these for a brief respite and lose yourself within the comfort of printed pages. Get in Trouble-Kelly Link, Men Without Women-Haruki Murakami, Exhalation-Ted Chiang,” she wrote in the caption of a stunning black and white photo of herself surrounded by books.
