New Delhi : In what is set to be the celebrity wedding of the year, Kareena Kapoor will marry boyfriend of five years Saif Ali Khan today.
Kareena and Saif will have a registered wedding at Saif's home in Bandra during the day, and then a nikaah ceremony at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in the evening.
Marriage registrar Surekha Ramesh told PTI, "The notice had been submitted on September 12 and that they had requested that the registry be held at their residence. For the formalities, we will charge Rs 1,000."
Family and friends of the couple have been guarded about wedding details, till now. "The wedding is taking place tomorrow and then we will have a reception in Delhi later on. It is a very joyous moment for our family," the bride's uncle, actor Rishi Kapoor, told AFP.
In addition to the reception in Delhi on October 18, there will be another ceremony at Pataudi Palace.
A sit down dinner and mehendi ceremony took place at the Taj Mahal hotel last night.
On Sunday, a private sangeet was held at Kareena's Bandra home. Family and close friends, including Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra, were invited. Today's ceremonies are expected to be equally select. (With agency Inputs)
