The 48-year-old looked bleary-eyed as he emerged from 25Degrees restaurant at the Roosevelt Hotel. The star seemedunsteady on his feet as he tried to sign autographs for fanson the famous pavement, the Daily Mail reported.
But as a large crowd, including paparazzi, assembledaround the actor, he began to lose his balance, prompting hisfriend to wrap his arms around the star.
The protective measure, however, took a wrong turn andthe actor and his friend came crashing down to the ground.Depp's friend picked him up and escorted him back to the carwhile his minders tried to block the photographers.
