Urmila Matondkar has grown “a year wiser” today. On her 49th birthday, the actress took out some time from her schedule to thank each and every one who has been a “part of (her) growth.” She also gave her fans a glimpse of her birthday celebrations. Urmila Matondkar shared a photo of herself posing with a cake against a stunning background. In her Thank You note, she expressed gratitude towards her fans for holding her hand “since the Masoom days” and never letting it go. She won acclaim for her performance as a child artiste in Shekhar Kapur's 1983 musical drama. “My heart is filled only with great gratitude as I grow a year wiser. Grateful to God, my parents and each and every one of you as you all have been a part of my growth. You all have held my hand since the Masoom days to never let it go,” wrote Urmila.

“Thank you all so very much for your love, support, affection,” the actress added and coupled her post with the hashtags “birthday girl,” “gratitude” and “support.” On Urmila Matondkar's post, Neelam Kothari and Sangeeta Bijlani, as well as many fans wished the actress a “happy birthday.”

Urmila Matondkar's husband and actor Mohsin Akhtar also shared a scene from her birthday party. He uploaded a photo of himself kissing Urmila on her forehead and accompanied it with a mushy wish for her. Mohsin Akhtar wrote, “Some experience true love through books, prose and poetry. And some experience through stories, plays and movies. I have experienced true love looking into your eyes. I love you because I like everything about you. Be yourself, do not change ever. Your every act inspires me. Happy birthday, my love.”


 

Urmila Matondkar is best known for her performances in films like Rangeela, Judaai, Daud and Khoobsurat. She will next be seen in a series titled Tiwari. The project was announced in October, last year.


 

Urmila Matondkar has also appeared on reality shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 2 and Chaak Dhoom Dhoom as a judge.
