Urvashi Dholakia returns as the small screen vamp
New Delhi: Actress Urvashi Dholakia, who shot to fame as the small screen vamp Komolika Basu on Kasautii Zindagii Kay, is set to portray shades of grey once again.

Urvashi, who set trends with her role and styling in the hit TV series, will be seen as a scheming mother on the upcoming show Apno ke liye Geeta ka Dharmayudh.

The actress, who has acted in few soaps since Kasauti..., refused to term her new role as a "comeback", saying she's never been off the small screen for a gap that would warrant one.

"It's a comeback in fiction and not on television. I did not do fiction for a long time because there was nothing appealing for me," said Urvashi.

She tried her hand at comedy in a few shows and was last seen on the reality show Meethi Choori No 1 this year.

Urvashi believes that her chaste Bhojpuri speaking negative character of Malini Yadav in Dharmayudh will once again be "accepted" by the audience.

"Those who wanted to write me off have done so. However, I am still there where I had to be," says the 32-year-old actress.

Known for her carefully styled looks, Urvashi holds that her role will also have "a touch" of her but will be something "very different" from how audience have seen her before.

"It is not going to be anything close to what you've seen me do," Dholakia says.

Apno ke liye Geeta ka Dharmayudh to be aired from December 6 on Zee TV, stars Sargun Mehta of '12/24 Karol Bagh' fame as the protagonist.

The show deals with the use and misuse of Section 498A that empowers and protects women against domestic violence.

Initially doubtful whether she would be able to pass off as a mother-of-four socialite, Urvashi considers herself "lucky" to have played all types of characters from varied age groups.

"To play a mother of four, which I have not done, was like - Will I look it? But I don't think that I will be typecast in that role or get offers only to play a mother or mother-in-law only," she added.

Even though reality shows are the order of the day, fans won't see the intensely "private" Urvashi participating in something like Bigg Boss anytime soon.

"I don't feel comfortable sharing my life or lifestyle with someone. I'm private in my own way," Dholakia says.
