New Delhi : Usher has been praying for his stepson Kyle Glover.
The 33-year-old singer's stepson - the child of his ex-wife Tameka Raymond and her former partner Ryan Glover - was hit by a jet ski and pronounced brain dead on Saturday (07.07.12), and he has put aside his messy divorce with her out of "respect" for 11-year-old Kyle.
A source told HollywoodLife.com: "The situation is terrible, the praying is plentiful and Usher is there for Kyle and is being an adult in the situation dealing with Tameka. He is separating things for the benefit and respect of Kyle.
"Usher is in contact and is nearby. He really is playing things close to his chest because there [are] still so many other emotions going on."
Usher is said to be "devastated" by the incident, which occurred on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia.
A source said: "Usher is completely devastated and shaken with what has occurred.
"[He] is emotionally drained from the accident. He feels incredibly awful, distraught ... it's been a complete rollercoaster of emotions."
Usher has reportedly pulled out of an awards show appearance so he can continue to support Tameka and Kyle.
The musician was scheduled to be a presenter at the ESPY Awards - which recognise the achievements of sports stars - tonight (11.07.12) but he will no longer be attending due to the incident, according to the New York Post newspaper.
Zooey Deschanel, Connie Britton and Bar Refaeli are all due to appear at the event at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
