The settlement came after almost 24 hours of negotiations between concerned parties along with actor Sarath Kumar, who heads South India Film Artists' Association and Kalaipuli Dhanu, who heads the Producers Council. Although sources in the industry put the unsettled amount at Rs 29 crore, Sarath Kumar said, "We don't want to divulge details of the issue but we can say the film would be released from noon. All issues have been sorted. We had a marathon meeting. I didn't sleep over the last 24 hours ever since I landed in Chennai".
Fans are excited. Prabhu, a young professional said, "I am looking forward to watch the movie. Rave reviews from abroad. My ticket for yesterday was cancelled."
Another fan Sai said, "Sad the film missed a long weekend opening. It's not too late either, I am happy."
In the Ramesh Aravind-directed film, Mr Haasan dons a double role. Actresses Pooja Kuamr and Andrea Jeremiah are the lead ladies in the film. The film also features Mr Haasan's mentor, late director K Balachander.
