Mumbai: Varun Dhawan is in a thoughtful mood and no, it is not just because of the critical backlash Dilwale is facing. The actor who's had a successful 2015 for the most part finds himself in a transitionary phase which is even reflecting in his wardrobe.
"The thing is I can't play this newcomer card anymore. I don't know what card to play. Do I give that young vibe? Do I give the office vibe? So, today if you see my attire also I've worn cargo pants with a semi-formal cardigan thing because I don't know what vibe to go with," he said. We wonder if the other Students are facing this problem with graduating to a new phase in their careers? Talking about the other students we had to ask what Varun thinks of Alia and Shah Rukh Khan starring together (in Gauri Shinde's film).
With tongue firmly in cheek Varun said: "What can I say she's after the men in my life. I think it's going to be very interesting them coming together."
And on the topic of SRK, we asked whether after Dilwale's lack of critical acclaim has made Varun wary of multi-starrers?
"Honestly, it's film to film, script to script. I mean when you hear a film which deserves and needs so many big actors then you work with it. For me the story is the biggest criteria," he said.
But while Varun figures out the path forward in his transitional phase, he is looking at the bigger picture in life. Varun said: "One thing I do want to do, we do a lot of shows as actors. I want to put together a show where we can help a cause. If the film industry unites and chooses a cause and does it that is something on my agenda."
