Actor Venkatesh will complete25 years in the Telugu film industry this year.
Telugu inti Bodyguard
Venkatesh's upcoming flick Bodyguard is set to hit the screens on January 12. Explaining a little on his role in the movie, Venkatesh says, "It's a very unique love story and has a fresh feel. The movie is a complete family package as it has both action as well as drama. And it's more special as I have done an action sequence after a long time." He further adds, "The best part of the movie is its music, which I think will be a hit among people and the locations in the movie are just beautiful."
Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu
Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu-starrer Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is yet another much-awaited release. The movie is a family entertainer, based on the life of two brothers and their journey. "This is the first time for both of us and we hit off really well while shooting. Both of us heard the story together and we loved it. The story has a very fresh and a contemporary concept and we are looking forward to it."
The release date of the movie has not been finalized yet. On Mahesh Babu, he says, "Mahesh is one of the good looking actors the industry has today. He has a very unique style of acting and a great comic timing. Working with him was a great experience."
Evolution of Telugu movies
With so many movie releasing every week and a host of youngsters turning into actors, Venky says that they have to very careful about the films they choose to work in. "It might look very easy to make a movie, but a lot of them run only if they have content in it. Our audience needs to be treated with movies that have a great story line, though they are centered around family drama and stuff like that."
Ask him about the ever-increasing budgets in Telugu movies, he says, "Movie-making has become serious business. Directors and producers are working on creating different subjects and plots and looks like the era of creative writers is here to stay. Talking about the investment point of view, there are many more people, who are coming forward to produce movies, which is a great sign. But, all movies don't run that well. They will if they are meant to."
When asked if he has a dream role, he laughs and says, "I don't dream! Things will come my way, if they have to."
Travelling along the Buddha trail
Venkatesh has been traveling across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and tracing the path of Gautama Buddha. "I have visited all the four important places in Buddha's life, starting from Sarnath, Bodh Gaya, Lumbini and Kapileshwara. He was a great man and exploring his journey was a great learning experience."
Rana's passion for films
Making news these days is Venkatesh's nephew Rana Daggubati. Not just Telugu, but he has ventured into movies in other languages. Venkatesh says, "It's very good that he is experimenting with his acting. Since his childhood, he always had this streak and passion in him for movies, be it the technical part or acting. I think he knows about cinema, more than I do and I guess that will help learn more effectively."
He also added that they are not doing a project together anytime soon.

The audio of Venkatesh's upcoming flick Bodyguard will be launched on the eve of his birthday on December 13. A directorial venture of Gopichand Malineni, the film is an official remake of a Malayalam film of the same name.
Bodyguard has already been remade in Tamil and Hindi.
