Venu Nagavally passes away
New Delhi: Actor, director and scenarist Venu Nagavally,61, passed away in the early hours of Thursday, at a private hospital in Thiruvanathapuram.

He  was suffering from a liver disease for the past few years. His body was  brought to his residence at Kowdiar at 8 am in the morning. The funeral ceremony will take place today at Santhi kavadam at 4 p.m .

Survived by his wife Meera and son Vivek, Venu Gopal is better known as Venu Nagavally. He is the son of noted writer and commentator the late Nagavally R.S Kruppu and Rajamma. He started his career as an announcer in All India Radio in 1978.

Later he entered  tinsel world through the film Ulkadal,  directed by K.G. George.  He acted in more than  50 films including Salini Ente Koottukari, Yavanika, Lekhayude Maranam Oru Flash Back, Chillu' Adhaminte Vaariyellu, Vartha, Devadas, Minaaaram, Aaraante Mulla Kochu Mulla, Hari Krishnans, Kaazhcha, Photographer, Raudram, Pathaka and Bhagya Devatha. Sukhamo Devi was his first directorial venture. He directed twelve films including  Sarvakalasala, Lal Salam, Raktha Sakshikal Zindabad,  Agnidevan, Aayirapara,  Ayitham and Ey Auto. 

Kilukkam, the super hit comedy entertainer was scripted by Venu Nagavalli.  Bharya Swantham Suhruth is the last film he directed, which released in 2009.
