Mumbai:
The script of Wazir, directed by Shaitan famed Bejoy Nambiar and starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, and Aditi Rao Hydari with John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in cameo roles, took five years to complete; as said by co-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra at an event on June 3.
Speaking at the unveiling of its teaser for media, the producer-director said the script wasn't an easy task for the makers. Vidhu Vinod Chopra co-produced the film with PK director Rajkumar Hirani.
"We've spent five years to create the characters of Panditji (Amitabh Bachchan) and Daanish (Farhan Akhtar). I'm extremely grateful to them for bringing these characters to life," said the PK producer, who was also a co-writer of the film along with Abhijat Joshi.
When asked about the extensive writing process, the Broken Horses director also said, "It takes us four to five years to write our scripts for our films. And that is the reason our films are of a certain level."
"We are not a studio and we don't have to pay salaries to four hundred people. We are not in any hurry. We are a bit lazy too. Right from Parinda to PK, all scripts have taken time to write, as we only back those projects we believe in," he concluded.
