Vidya Balan played the role of a woman in search of her missing husband in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani.
Mumbai:
Actress Vidya Balan is overwhelmed that Kahaani bagged two national awards this year and feels that every honour for the gritty venture is her own.
Director Sujoy Ghosh won the Best Original Screenplay for Kahaani and the Best Editing award went to Namrata Rao while a special jury award was given to actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for his exceptional work in the film.

In the film, Vidya played the role of a seven-month pregnant woman who comes to Kolkata from London in search of her husband. With nothing to rely on except fragments from her memories about him, it is a story of a lone woman's relentless struggle in an unknown city.
Her strong and convincing performance fetched her many rewards this year except for the national award but Vidya is elated.
"I am happy Kahaani got two awards. Any award for Kahaani is an award for me. I am really thrilled about Sujoy getting the award. At a recent award ceremony it was fantastic to see that all the editors in the best editing category were women, so more power to us," Vidya told PTI on the sidelines of L'Oreal Paris Femina Women Awards here, where she received the Editors Choice Award for 'Women We love'.
