Sanjay Dutt's Parineeta andLage Raho Munnabhai co-star Vidya Balan feels that theBollywood actor deserves a lesser punishment in the 1993blasts case.
Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan has receivedseveral representations and petitions from various individualsand organisations, both seeking and opposing clemency for the53-year-old actor.
Dutt has been ordered by the Supreme Court recently toreturn to jail to complete the five-year-sentence in theblasts case. But as he has already served 18 months, he wouldhave to undergo the imprisonment for three-and-a-half-years.
"We all have faith in judiciary system. I don't thinkit is right for me to say anything about that. But as someonewho really considers him as special and dear I just wish thathis punishment becomes less. I know there are people whodeserve this... but all of us are reacting from a personalpoint of view," Vidya said.
"Sanjay Dutt is very special for me. I will always be therefor him. God bless him," she said on the sidelines of an eventheld over the weekend here.
Meanwhile, Vidya is looking forward to the release ofGhanchakkar a comedy where she plays a loud Punjabihousewife. The film directed by Raj Kumar Gupta will see heropposite Emraan Hashmi.
"The promos have good response. It was a differentexperience for me, she is so loud. I used to feel I won't beable to deliver dialogues with so much loudness but Rajkumarmade me do it," she said.
The 34-year-old star will be seen next in PritishNandy's home production film Shaadi Ke Side Effects oppositeFarhan Akhtar.
"The shooting is on and we are having fun. First time,I am working with a writer-actor-director-musician (Farhan) itis great, he has holistic perspective on things. It isfascinating for me," Vidya said.
