Rajinikanth's next Rana has been the talk of the town for some time now as has the casting of the female leads.
Though several names were tossed around including Katrina Kaif and Asin, last we've heard is that only Rekha and Deepika Padukone were confirmed as the two female leads out of three.
According to sources it's none other than Vidya Balan, who will be playing the third female lead opposite Rajini.
A source said, "The makers wanted a girl with a distinctly Indian look and who would click with the South audience well. Rajni has a triple role in Rana. Rekha will co-star opposite the older Rajnikanth, Vidya with be with the middle-aged character and Deepika opposite the youngest."
Interestingly, all three actresses have a south Indian background. Sonu Sood plays the villain in the film.

The movie hits floors in April.
