A few weeks after the release of Beast (RAW in Tamil), Vijay hosted a dinner for the film's team. Beast director Nelson, co-stars Pooja Hegde, Anirudh Ravichander and a few more members of the Beast team were present at the get-together. On her Instagram story, actress Pooja Hegde shared a glimpse from the bash. The film's director Nelson also shared a picture and an extensive note for Vijay on Twitter after the dinner. An excerpt from Nelson's tweet read: "Thank you Vijay sir for hosting us. It was a fun-filled and memorable evening with the whole team. I take this moment to thank Vijay sir for his love and support. You were a charm to work with sir. I am truly honored and I shall cherish this experience for life. Your charisma and super stardom has taken this film all the way sir."

Other than superstar Vijay, Beast also featured Pooja Hegde, Yogi Babu, Selvaraghavan, Shine Tom Chacko, Redin Kingsley, VTV Ganesh, Shaji Chen, Aparna Das in pivotal roles.
Beast opened to mixed reviews from film critics. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film two-and-a-half stars out of 5. He wrote this in his review: "We are going with half an extra star because Beast draws attention in its own facile but essential way to something that no contemporary Bollywood movie will - the cynical ways in which pettifogging politicians seek to derive electoral brownie points from the bravery of soldiers and the misery of the masses. Beast dares to make a home minister, a bumbling self-seeker, the butt of its barbs.
