Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's latest film Vikram Vedha has been performing “below expectations” at the box office,” reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film has managed to collect Rs 36.94 crore since it was released in cinemas on Friday. Yesterday, it fetched Rs 13.85 crore, slightly better than its last two days' collections. On Friday, Vikram Vedha collected Rs 10.58 crore. The film, on Saturday, earned Rs 12.51 crore. Sharing the box office performance of the movie, Taran Adarsh stated that it should “get a boost” on Dussehra. He added that the Gayatri and Pushkar directorial “needs to trend well” this week. In a tweet, the film analyst wrote, “Vikram Vedha fares way below expectations in its opening weekend... Needs to trend well on weekdays... Business should get a boost on Dussehra... Friday 10.58 crore, Saturday 12.51 crore, Sunday 13.85 crore. Total: Rs 36.94 crore. India business.”

In a subsequent post, Taran Adarsh also shared the circuit-wise weekend collection data of Vikram Vedha. The film racked up Rs 11.40 crore in Mumbai; in Delhi, the Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer earned Rs 7.79 crore. Take a look at the movie's collections in other states too:
Vikram Vedha is the Hindi remake of R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi's 2017 Tamil film of the same name. It was also helmed by director duo Gayatri and Pushkar, who have given a fresh touch to the remake. But on its first day, Vikram Vedha had a “shockingly low start.” Here's what Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Vikram Vedha has a shockingly low start on Day 1, despite super-strong word of mouth... National chains underperform, while mass circuits are below par... Business needs to multiply on Day 2 and 3 to cover lost ground... Friday ₹ 10.58 crore. India business.”
While the box office performance did improve on the second day, the “jump” in the collections was “missing.” Analysing the film's India business, Taran Adarsh said, “Vikram Vedha remains low on Day 2... Business did improve, but the jump is missing... The 2-day total is underwhelming... All eyes on Day 3 (Gandhi Jayanti)... Friday 10.58 crore, Saturday 12.51 crore. Total: Rs 23.09 crore.”
Vikram Vedha features Hrithik Roshan stepping into the shoes of Vijay Sethupathi as a gangster and Saif Ali Khan playing the role of a cop, originally played by R Madhavan.
