New Delhi:

Diljit Dosanjh's Ahmedabad concert, part of his Dil-Luminati India Tour, hasn't stopped making headlines. After Diljit called out the government's liquor policy across the states as he was served a notice by the Telangana government, a funny video from the show has surfaced online. In the video, Diljit can be seen pausing his concert midway to address the audience. He looks surprised and asks his team to stop playing the music. He can be heard saying, "Yeh jo hotel ki balcony mein baithe hai, aap ka toh bara accha bhi hoya. Yeh hotel waale game kar gaye (Those who are sitting in the hotel balcony, this is good for you. The hotel outsmarted us). Without tickets, huh?" While Diljit was speaking, the camera zoomed in on the front view of the hotel where a large number of Diljit fans can be seen enjoying the music from their balcony.

Prompted by the Telangana government's notice prohibiting promotions of alcohol, drugs, and violence in his songs ahead of his Hyderabad concert, Diljit Dosanjh tweaked his songs 'Lemonade' and '5 Taara', but called out double standards by the authorities. He, then, addressed the issue in explicit words at the Ahmedabad concert. "You close liquor shops across the country, I will stop singing songs on alcohol." During the pandemic, everything was shut but the liquor stores were spared, he pointed out, adding, "You can't fool the youth."

The singer even called for a movement to ban liquor. "Let's start a movement. If all states declare themselves as dry state, from the next day, Diljit Dosanjh will stop singing songs about alcohol in live concerts. There's another offer. Declare dry day in whichever place I perform, I won't sing songs about alcohol," said the singer.
