Actor Arshad Warsi, best known forhis role as Circuit in Munnabhai series and Babban inIshqiya, says that despite having potential, he is notgetting offers for good roles.
"Personally I have got way more than what I had asked foror desired. Professionally, I feel I am more talented andcapable of doing better things. Sooner or later (offers forgood roles) it will happen. It is just a matter of time.Longer the wait, the better it is. Which means I will be herefor a longer time," Arshad told PTI.
"I am not worried about whether I have got my due in theindustry or not."Arshad made his debut in Amitabh Bachchan's productioncompany, ABCL's Tere Mere Sapne in 1996. He went on to actin several films but got his due recognition with RajkumarHirani's Munnabhai MBBS (2003) where he played a SanjayDutt's side kick.
His work in films like Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, SalaamNamaste, Golmaal series, Dhamaal was appreciated but itwas Vishal Bharadwaj's Ishqiya that brought the focus backon his acting calibre.Arshad admits that he wants more exciting work to comehis way.
"I take whatever comes my way. I hear the script, if itexcites me I do it. And if it doesn't then I don't do it.There are no rules. I have not made a list of roles I wish todo. I want more exciting work to come my way."
Arshad will be seen next in Jolly LLB, a satire onthe judicial system. He would also be seen in the politicalaction-thriller Zilla Ghaziabad, Dedh Ishqiya, Ken Ghosh'sChambal Safari and Joe B Carvalho with Soha Ali Khan.The actor had turned producer in 2010 with Hum TumAur Ghost. The film, starring Arshad and Dia Mirza in thelead role, did not do well at the box office.
"I think I am a terrible producer. I am the worstproducer one would have ever seen. I don't know how to producea film. I spend money over the top so much so that I end uplosing money. I will take time and see and learn how to do itagain. I will definitely produce films," he said.
