Madhuri Dixit has her hands fullwith two films, a reality show, endorsements and now an allnew online dance academy, which she wants to use as a platformto reach out to those who want to learn to shake a leg.
Post her marriage, Madhuri had relocated to the US foralmost a decade. It was in October 2011 that she shifted herbase back to Mumbai along with her family. And since then, theveteran actress has been a busy bee.
"Right now I am busy... I have two films (DedhIshqiya and Gulab Gang), I have Jhalak Dikhla Jaa comingup, I have this online dance academy. I think I need to take abreather now," Madhuri told PTI in an exclusive interview.
The 45-year-old is not only known for her actingskills, but also for her fabulous dancing skills.She recently announced the launch of Dance WithMadhuri, an online dance academy, where you can pick up themoves from the dancing diva herself.
"It is the passion towards dancing that got me intothis.I love dancing. I have been dancing since I wasthree-year-old. I want to take the passion of dancing to everyhousehold, make people dance and enjoy dancing," Madhuri said.
"Also my fans have loved me, my dancing, lot of peopletold me they wished they could learn dance from me. So I feltthis was the good opportunity to give back all the love andaffection that I have got from people," she said.
For over a decade, Madhuri ruled the roost and dancedher way into the hearts of the audience with popular numbersincluding Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Ek Do Teen, Humko Aaj KalHai, Chane Ke Khet Mein, Didi Tera Devar Deewana, CholiKe Peechhe, Mera Piya Ghar Aaya, Kay Sera Sera and MaarDaala among others.
Dance with Madhuri is a revolutionary product, whichallows dance enthusiasts to enroll into the programme throughtheir Facebook, Gmail or Yahoo id.
"This venture is one of its kind. There is no danceacademy that is online. We are blind.. we don't know howpeople will react, what response we will get. Also it can be amedium to find new talent. We want to bring different danceforms be it classical, western or Bollywood style under oneroof," Madhuri said.
Through this online dance academy, the 45-year-oldaims to reach out to dance lovers and fans across the globe,where they can get to learn dancing from her and a team ofchoreographers.
"I think if you have bricks and walls you teach danceto 200-300 people but this way (online) you can reach out tomaximum number of people and they can hop on to it at theirleisure, pace. They can learn dance whenever they want," shesaid.
"The main thing for me is you reach out to lot ofpeople... Time is no barrier whenever you want you can goonline and dance. As time is becoming a commodity today, itsvery rare... you can learn it anytime you want," she added.
Initially, Madhuri would be giving lessons and forthis, she has choosen two of her popular songs Maye Ni Mayefrom Hum Aapke Hai Kaun and Ek Do Teen from Tezaab.
Later, she will rope in choreographers as well.Madhuri's dancing journey started from the age ofthree.
"My sister used to learn dancing.. I used to standbehind her and imitate her. The sir over there told my sisterif I am keen to learn dancing then why not send me too here.That is how the journey started. Dance has been always closeto my heart," she said.
"I got to work with wonderful choreographers likeSaroj Khan, Prabhu Deva, Chinni Prakash, Kamal master, fromwhom I learned so much and also my guruji Birju Maharaj ji andVasant Rao Gadhge. It has been a wonderful journey. I lovedancing. It is very spiritual experience for me," she added.
