London:
Showbiz matriarch Kris Jenner could have deliberately released her daughter Kim Kardashian's sex tape in 2007 in order to catapult the Kardashian family to stardom, according to a new source who backs the rumours started by Kim's soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries.
A source - who passed a polygraph test - told the US edition of Star magazine: "Kris was totally involved in arranging the sale of Kim's tape.
"The video already existed, and Kris was there every step of the way as a middleman brought in to market it to an adult entertainment company."
Savvy businesswoman Kris now manages her six children and husband Bruce Jenner's careers, and the insider claims she approached Vivid Entertainment to market curvy reality star Kim's sex tape to then boyfriend Ray J.
The source added: "I saw Kris Jenner's signature on the contract; I believe she got somewhere between $250,000 and $500,000 for the original deal with the middleman."
The tape was branded Kim Kardashian, Superstar reports RadarOnline.com, and the insider joked: "That must have thrilled Kris since you could hardly call Kim a household name at that point in time."
Kim's estranged husband Kris Humphries first started rumours in June when he allegedly sent a series of text messages to his ex-girlfriend accusing the Keeping Up With The Kardashians matriarch of telling Kim to make a sex tape, then instructing her to re-shoot it because the first one wasn't "pretty enough."
Former nanny Pam Behan also recently cast doubt on Kris' intentions, saying: "I believe [Kris] was grooming her children for their current celebrity status their entire lives...
"I do believe that the success they enjoy now is what she always hoped for and wanted for them and for herself."
