West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Sunday expressed grief over the demise of veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra.
"I am feeling very sad to know about the sudden demise of Shri Yash Chopra, internationally famous film personality. I used to know him personally," Mamata Banerjee said.
"At this moment those thoughts of our meeting and interaction are coming back to my memory," said Mamata Banerjee on her Facebook page.
"It is no doubt a great loss to the film world. My heartfelt condolences are with his bereaved family members. May the Almighty give them enough strength to bear this irreparable loss," she wrote.
The legendary director known for his films like Silsila, Kabhi Kabhie, Chandni among many others, breathed his last at Lilavati Hospital on October 21, a hospital spokesperson said. Yash Chopra was 80.
