Sooraj Pancholi, who made his debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan's Hero in 2015, won the Filmfare Best Debut (Male) Award for the film. Sooraj thanked his fans for supporting him.

Bhumi Pednekar won the Best Debut Actor Female Award for Dum Laga Ke Haisha. Ranveer Singh won the Best Actor Award for his role as Peshwa Bajirao I in Bajirao Mastani while Deepika Padukone won the Best Actress Award for her role in Shoojit Sircar's Piku.
