New Delhi:
Gurbani Judge, better known as Bani J, doesn't care if she's criticised for working out and being a 'woman with muscles.' In an advertisement for a denim brand, Bani said that she was often told that she 'looks manly' because of her well-sculpted muscles, to which she often replies: "So you're telling me that just because I'm woman with muscles, I become manly; what is a man without muscles? A woman?" The former Bigg Boss contestant said: "When you're in an industry like the media industry you are going to face a lot of criticism and not that much appreciation. We see a lot of heroes and all the men in India with good physique and muscles so I find it extremely funny when people tell me that just because I'm a woman with muscles that I look manly."
"Casting directors have given me cra*p also for working out and that used to be a huge disadvantage to me when I started out," Bani added.
Bani also revealed her mantra in the advertisement: "I don't know if I was born this way or not but I have definitely been conditioned by my environment to not give two hoots about what people think about you but what I believe in. You have to have this one rock solid conviction - believe in yourself. Whatever you're doing will get you through to wherever you want to reach. That's it."
Bani was the first runner up of MTV Roadies 4 in 2006 and she started her career in Bollywood with Himesh Reshammiya's Aap Kaa Surroor. Her last big screen outing was Punjabi film Zorawar, with Honey Singh and Parul Gulati. On the small screen, Bani hosted Roadies from season 6 to season 12 with the exception of season 8. She has also participated in reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 and I Can Do that.
