Suniel Shetty's son Ahan Shetty is making his Bollywood debut soon and all eyes are on the starkid to see how well he fills his father's shoes. The actor's debut offering is Tadap, the trailer for which was released earlier this week. Along with fans, industry insiders were also seen chipping in to cheer on Ahan Shetty as he makes his Hindi film debut. On top of the list of well-wishers is actor Akshay Kumar, who has worked with Suniel Shetty in several iconic films over the decades. Sharing the trailer of Tadap and tagging Suniel Shetty, Akshay said on Twitter, “Tera beta toh tujh se bhi das kadam aage hai (Your son is ten steps ahead of you).”
Making a pun on the film Hera Pheri, a cult movie that Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty acted in, Akshay said, “Yeh kis type ki hera pheri hai bhai (What kind of monkey business is this)? What a trailer of Tadap! Lots of love and best wishes to Ahan.”
Reacting to the sweet note, Suniel Shetty thanked the actor and wrote, “You were the first one who wished and predicted something beautiful years ago by just looking at his pic, Akki … Thank you so very much for the love you always show … appreciate.”
Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty have appeared together in several hit films including the Hera Pheri franchise, De Dana Dan and Awara Paagal Deewana.
Akshay Kumar was not alone in extending a warm welcome to Ahan Shetty. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal too tweet on the occasion of the trailer release of Tadap and said, “Welcoming dear Ahan Shetty (son of Sunil Shetty) to the world of Indian Cinema as he enters with Sajid Nadiadwalas' Tadap as his debut film. All my love and prayers!”
Actor Kicha Sudeep said, “Congrats Suniel Shetty. Anna, I have witnessed the excitement you have been carrying towards this film for a long time and this trailer lives up to it.” He added, “Best wishes once again, Ahan Shetty. You look stunning. Have a splendid career.”
Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi too described the trailer as “raw and intense”. To this, Suniel Shetty said, “Chiranjeevi garu. Grateful and humbled at your beautiful introduction to Ahan and your lovely wishes for his Tadap. Deeply touched at your warm welcome to him into your magical world of movies. Thank you.”
Tadap is directed by Milan Luthria and stars Tara Sutaria in the lead role alongside Ahan Shetty. The film is a remake of the 2018 Telugu film RX 100.
