Shraddha Kapoor and Remo D'Souza in conversation with NDTV
Mumbai:
The cast of Any Body Can Dance 2 (ABCD 2) may have made it look as easy as 1, 2, 3 to shatter records at the box office, but they insist it wasn't actually so.
Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, who met the media in Mumbai on Wednesday along with director Remo D'Souza, told NDTV, "It was really not all in a day's work. It was anything but that. There's been a lot of effort from everybody in front of the camera and behind the camera."
But while there's little argument on the dedication to dance in the film, the paper-thin storyline has been criticised. But at a box office that increasingly seems to be geared towards the teen and pre- teen audiences, does script matter as much as song? And does dialogue matter as much as dance?
Varun Dhawan certainly seems to have realised the secret to his success if this tweet is anything to go by.
Director Remo D'Souza agrees that the youth connect has been an important factor in the film's success even as he readies to join Varun on the sets of his next movie.
Remo said, "Yes, I feel that's a big reason because the youth connect is really good in this film because of the dance and the music. So when they come into the theatre and see this film, they are really connecting with the characters they are watching and they get inspired." Little wonder then that ABCD 3 is already on Remo's mind. "The love they have shown me in ABCD and ABCD 2 tells me that I should keep going," he said.
And while the ABCD 2 journey for the team may be over, they have still got their dancing shoes on even if they are not spilling the details. Considering that Shraddha's working with Tiger Shroff - also known for his dance moves - and Remo is working on an all-new reality dance show after Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, it seems that we still have plenty of fancy footwork to look forward to.
