Mumbai:
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, who has come on board as a judge on singing reality show Indian Idol Jr, said that she wanted to polish her singing skills but the "desire stagnated" in childhood itself.
"My music teacher taught me Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, but did not return after that and that is where my desire to sing stagnated," Sonakshi said at the launch of Indian Idol Jr, which will start from May 30.
When Sonakshi shared this desire, the show's co-judge Vishal Dadlani promptly added: "She is a good singer. We are doing a film titled Akira where Sonakshi is the 'hero'. I promise you that she is going to sing in that film."
Sonakshi, who delivered a memorable performance in Lootera, also said she wanted to sing in the Vikramaditya Motwane-directed film.
"I love the song Sawaar Loon and would have definitely sung it for myself," said Sonakshi, who is the daughter of actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha.
At the launch of her forthcoming show, which will bring talented children on the stage, Sonakshi even gave a sample of her singing skills. She did rapped Yo! Yo! Honey Singh's song Party All Night.
On the film front, the 27-year-old actress is currently filming Akira, which is an action-drama by director AR Murugadoss.
