Mumbai:
Madhur Bhandarkar is known for his unique and rather amusing way of addressing his actors. On the sets of Heroine, while he complimented the 'perfect' shots with Kya jalwa hai!, his leading lady Kareena Kapoor earned the nickname of Bai. According to a source from the film's sets: "Madhur would address Bebo as Bai...'Has Bai come?' or 'Tell Bai the shot is ready'."
So did Bebo take offense when addressed as Bai?
Kareena Kapoor said: "The word in Marathi is used as a very powerful term. Actually it is associated with respect. Madhur and I share a very good rapport. He is a friend. I usually don't become friends with my directors. But Madhur is different."
The actress added that ever since Chandni Bar, she had wanted to work with the filmmaker.
Madhur said: "Bai suits Kareena as it stands for a strong woman."
