New Delhi: Saif Ali Khan and daughter Sara have a double whammy 2018 coming up - Kaalakaandi, starring dad, opens the year while Sara's debut Kedarnath closes it. Saif told the press at the launch of Kaalakaandi's trailer in Mumbai on Wednesday that when Sara's film nears its due date, it will feel like one of his own's films releasing. "I am happy, I am excited for her. I think when we get close to that release, it will be like my own film is releasing," Saif Ali Khan said, reports news agency PTI.

Kedarnath is being directed by Abhishek Kapoor and co-stars Sushant Singh Rajput. Rumours about the work-in-progress abound, from Sara Ali Khan's mother Amrita Singh getting too involved to Sushant not being too thrilled about how the film is shaping up. But never mind all that. "She will be very good," Saif Ali Khan said about Sara.

The first look of Sara Ali Khan from the film released recently and folks were struck by how much she looks like her mom:

Kaalakaandi, the cast of which also includes Saif's Omkaara co-star Deepak Dobriyal, is 'fun' and 'unpretentious,' Saif says. Plus, he claims his acting 'improved' after working with co-stars like Deepak and Vijay Raaz. Kaalakaandi will release on January 12.

Saif Ali Khan's last film Chef performed indifferently at the box office despite being well-reviewed. Asked, Saif said the film could have been marketed better. "I don't think it was even publicised correctly. I didn't see enough buzz around the film. It's ok doing interviews, but you've to show the trailer, show hoardings, spend some money. These days, people don't want to spend money on marketing, they send the actors to Bigg Boss or Comedy Nights With Kapil to talk about the movie, thinking it'll help, but it won't," Saif Ali Khan said, reports PTI.
