Dabangg was a big hit and now thatsuperstar Salman Khan is returning with a sequel, producerMalaika Arora Khan says the franchise will be carried forward.

"Dabangg is a brand... When we were making the firstfilm, we did not have the intention of making a sequel. It waslater that we realized there is a potential and we can takethe film ahead," Malaika told PTI in an interview.
"We would definitely like to make Dabangg 3 or 4. But itis too early to say anything right now."
Salman himself had said earlier this year that inDabangg 3, his Chulbul Pandey will be posted in Mumbai, asthe Police Commissioner!
Talking about Salman, Malaika said, "He is doingfantastic. He has really worked very hard to reach where he istoday. Actors have ups and downs, it is not easy. The bestpart is, his fan following has always been consistent."
Malaika said the combination of Salman and the Dabanggbrand will create magic this year. "It is obvious that at theend of the day a Salman Khan film will without doubt have agood opening. But let's not forget that Dabangg is also abrand. There are loyal fans that would come to watch."

Dabangg 2 sees the return of Salman and Sonakshi in theleads. It is expected to release in December. But directorAbhinav Kashyap has been now replaced by Arbaaz Khan.
Malaika admitted that there would be some pressure. "Nowthe pressure is of different sort as we have to live up to theexpectations of the people," she said.
In Dabangg, Malaika's item number Munni Badnaam Huihad become a chartbuster. In the sequel, her friend KareenaKapoor will be stepping into her shoes.
"I am really very happy that Kareena is doing the song.She is family... she is like my younger sister. I am happythat she is a part of the film," Malaika said.
When asked if she was doing an item number or a specialappearance in Dabangg 2, Malaika said, "I can't tell youthat."
Meanwhile, Malaika is back on the small screen as a judgefor the reality show India's Got Talent, with filmmakerKaran Johar, choreographer-turned-director-actor Farah Khanand veteran actor Kirron Kher.
"The show is completely different from all others that Ihave done. It is about all sorts of talent and it does notnarrow down to only singing and dancing.
"The performances have their roots all over the country,performers have come from the remotest of areas. I have donereality shows but I haven't done something which is connectedto the common people."
