Bang Baaja Baaraat, a web series from Yash Raj Films youth studio, Y-Films, will premiere at Jio MAMI 17th Mumbai Film Festival's new section "Play".
The series, directed by Anand Tiwari, is a hilarious take on what happens when two families from different backgrounds come together for a wedding. (Also Read: Zoya Akhtar on This Year's MAMI Mumbai Film Festival)
The star cast, including, Ali Fazal, Angira Dhar, Rajit Kapur, Shernaz Patel, Gajraj Rao, Ayesha Raza and Neil Bhoopalam, will be present at the premiere.
Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh will also showcase his short film Ahalya, along with actress Radhika Apte.
Actors Nimrat Kaur and Divyendu Sharma will present their 'Terribly Tiny Talkies' short film El'aiychi.
Apart from them, The Viral Fever (TVF) will showcase an episode from their groundbreaking show Permanent Roommates while comedy group AIB will present their viral hit, Honest Indian Weddings.
Conde Nast India will premiere its Journeys of a Lifetime series, featuring Fatima Bhutto.
The film festival, along with Star India, has introduced the section to celebrate the digital narrative.
"'Play' celebrates the most original and innovative story-telling in the digital medium. This is where a new generation of story-tellers now choose to work. With 'Play', MAMI celebrates the future," Anupama Chopra, Festival Director, 17th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival said in a statement.
There will also be a discussion with Ghosh, Apte, Tanmay Bhat (of AIB) among others on the future of digital content, moderated by curator of "Play", Nikhil Taneja.
