Paying tributes to the late film-maker Yash Chopra, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said that the veteran director played an important role in making Hindi films globally popular.
Yash Chopra (80) died in Mumbai today (October 21, 2012).
His films were entertaining, a mixture of sensitivity, emotions and action, Chavan said in his condolence message this evening.
Yash Chopra was also an industry leader who took up the issues concerning Bollywood with the government, the Chief Minister added.
