Nicole Kidman has opened up about the final moments she shared with her mother Janelle Ann Kidman, who died in September. She was 84. Nicole had to cut her time at the Venice Film Festival short after hearing about her mother's death. The Big Little Lies star, who appeared on the CBS Sunday Morning show, recalled her mother's last words. Nicole Kidman shared, “The final words my mama said, which I didn't know were gonna be the final words … I was going to get on a plane and go back to see her. And she was like, ‘Maybe wait a minute because I think you just need to take care of yourself right now, Nicky.'”
These simple yet powerful words made a deep impact on Nicole Kidman. The 57-year-old actress shared that it made her realise how often women neglect themselves. “So, I'm doing that more. And I say that to other people in the world, and particularly women. I think we tend not to take care of ourselves,” she added.
As a mom of four, Nicole Kidman wants to apply this wisdom in her own life. She shares two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 13, with her musician husband Keith Urban. “Obviously, I'm an older mother, so I want to be around for a long time for my girls,” the star noted. Nicole also has two children, Isabella, 31 and Connor, 29, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
Grateful for her role as a mother, Nicole Kidman expressed, “They're amazing girls, and I'm lucky to have them. So taking care of myself means that I can take care of them.”
On the work front, Nicole Kidman last featured in Spellbound, an American animated musical adventure fantasy comedy film directed by Vicky Jenson. She lent her voice to the character of Queen Ellsmere, the mother of Ellian, the protagonist.
