Pics: Royal Wedding - the countdown begins
Video-sharing website YouTube has announced that the British royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William will be shown live on the website's live streaming channel.
The live stream will focus on the April 29 wedding procession and the marriage ceremony at Westminster Abbey as well as the balcony kiss, Xinhua reported.
The official channel - www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel - will have live blog commentary of the event, and users can also upload video wishes for the couple on the site.
"This one is already heralded as the first of the internet age, where for the first time in thousands of years of royal history, the moment will be captured online and preserved forever," YouTube said in its blog.
YouTube will provide the technical support for the broadcast and the footage will be provided by BBC.
Live streaming service YouTube Live was launched April 8.
