"What's in a name?" Shakespeare famously asked. Quite a lot apparently, Tom Holland has discovered over the past few days. By Tom Holland, we do not mean the Spider-Man star but the British historian who shares his name with the actor. However, if you were left confused when you first came across the name, you are not alone. Twitter mistook the profile of the author for that of the Hollywood star and inundated him with tags on pictures and videos from the grand launch event of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai. Held over the weekend, the event saw some of the biggest names from Hollywood and Bollywood in attendance, including actor Tom Holland and his girlfriend, actress Zendaya. Now, with the stars leaving Mumbai after the event, Tom Holland – the author – is a happy man.
Breathing a sigh of relief, the author reshared a news report on the stars flying out of Mumbai and said, “Phew!”
A day ago, the historian also reshared a tweet that tagged him to a picture from the event featuring Tom, Zendaya, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani and wrote, “Please make it stop.”
In another tweet, he added, “It seems like I have the whole of India in my timeline!”
Meanwhile, the Hollywood star also shared a series of images from the event where he looked dapper as always in a sleek yet classic black tuxedo. In the post, he thanked the Ambani family for the invite to the event. “Thank you to the Ambani family for inviting us to celebrate the opening of the @nmacc.india. A truly wonderful experience that I'll never forget,” he wrote.
Other than Tom Holland and Zendaya, some of the international names present at the event were Gigi Hadid, Law Roach, Penelope Cruz, and Karlie Kloss. From the Indian film industry, Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan and family, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Nick Jonas, among others were in attendance.
