As the 93-year-old actress' health worsens, herhusband is selling their palatial mansion due to her mountingmedical bills, reported Los Angeles Times.
Zsa Zsa's ninth husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalttold the media that he made the decision on Saturday, when hiswife returned home from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centerafter having about three-fourths of her leg amputated.It was the 67-year-old socialite that gave thego-ahead for his wife's life-saving operation.
Doctors treating Gabor at the Los Angeles hospitaldecided on the procedure after an MRI revealed gangrene in herleg had spread into the bone.
Von Anhalt said that his wife's mounting medical billsand bad debt are too much to deal with, and they need to sellthe 28-room, 12,000 square-foot mansion, so he can continue tolook after her.
"I just want to settle my wife's debts and keep hercomfortable. The upkeep alone per month on the house is $35,000. It gives me a big headache, and I cannot afford tokeep paying it," said Anhalt.
Zsa Zsa has no health insurance besides Medicare.With all of her treatments taking place in US, hermedical bills have mounted to a hefty $21,000 a month.
"She partied with the rich and famous, flirted andsometimes got married. She did not think of the future," saidAnhalt.
