To support the NDTV-Toyota Greenathon, the district administration of Nainital is organising a week- long campaign to raise awareness about the environment.
The week culminates on May 20 and will include several eco-friendly activities such as bird nest distribution, fresh water fish release to clean-up the ecosystem of the Naini lake naturally, the Uttarakhand police lake clean-up drive and tree plantation.
Thousands of school children will form a human chain around the Naini lake and will take an oath to preserve it.
