In a trailer for an upcoming TV interview, Britain's Prince Harry spoke about his troubled relationship with the royal family. Prince Harry said "I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back", according to a BBC report.
In the trailer, Prince Harry said, "It never needed to be this way. The leaking and the planting. I want a family, not an institution. They feel as though it's better to keep up, somehow, as the villains. They've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile. I would like to get my father back. I would like to get my brother back.'' Prince Harry made these comments during a conversation with ITV's Tom Bradby, ahead of the release of his book.
The program will be shown two days before Prince Harry's autobiography is published on January 10. The autobiography named 'Spare' is anticipated to give details about disagreements with his brother Prince William.
In 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle --also known as The Duke and Duchess of Sussex--announced they will step back as "senior" royals and work to become financially independent. The surprise news followed a turbulent year for the couple, who have openly said they have struggled in the spotlight and grown apart from Harry's brother Prince William.
The couple recently featured in a six-part docuseries, 'Harry and Meghan', where they spilled the beans about their love story and the problems they faced as part of the royal family. Saying how they felt that they were treated differently than other senior members, Prince Harry said in one clip, alleging that the couple experienced “institutional gaslighting”. In one of the episodes, Prince Harry also accused his elder brother Prince William of screaming at him during a summit to discuss his future.
Harry also said aides for William, now heir to the throne, had been complicit in negative stories appearing about the couple in the media and blamed the press for Meghan having a miscarriage.
