After the winning the Indian Premier League trophy twice for his team Kolkata Knight riders and being part of the historic team that brought the World Cup home after 28 years, in 2012, Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir has set out to win our hearts again, but this time off the field, by initiating a touching campaign to feed the poor and hungry free of cost in New Delhi.
Announcing his newest initiative, the cricketer wrote on twitter "Won World Cups, Won IPLs, beaten Now time 2 win hearts & beat hunger. Community Kitchen #1 by Gautam Gambhir Foundation."

A true star on the field, Gambhir has launched a social campaign in West Patel Nagar Market in New Delhi to make sure that the underprivileged people in that area don't go hungry. The initiative aims to feed the needy from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. every day of the week with good quality food, free of cost. Gautam took to Twitter to share his plans and wrote: "365 days, 52 weeks, 12 months, numerous hungers & Ek Asha #communitykitchen1 #ggf." The left-handed batsman kick-started the free community kitchen on Monday, July 31. And also tweeted his picture feeding the poor.

The 35-year-old cricketer is known for taking a stand on various social issues. In April, Gambhir had also pledged to bear the full expenses of the children of 25 CRPF personnel killed in an ambush by Maoists in Chhattisgarh.
Here's how fans are reacting to his thoughtful gesture.
More power to you for this Noble cause.
