Ghaziabad: One person was killed and seven others injured when a portion of an under-construction building collapsed in Ghaziabad near Delhi on Sunday.
Over two dozen labourers who were working in the building at the time are feared to be trapped under the debris.
Around 80 people were said to be present at the construction site when the scaffolding gave way but the exact number could not be confirmed by the police. The unit, police said, was being built by a firm that manufactures readymade garments.
Police, district administration, and a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are at the spot to help with rescue and relief operations.
