Ghaziabad:
Two persons were killed and two others received severe injuries when their speeding car hit a stationary truck on G T Road in Ghaziabad, police said.
Aditya Chaudary, 27, and Jyoti, 23, died while 26-year-old Anurag and 24-year-old Hina suffered injuries in the accident, Sahibabad Police SHO Upendra Yadav said.
The incident took place last night when the four were on their way to Delhi, he said.
Anurag, who was driving the car, lost balance of the vehicle due to low visibility and deep pot holes on the road opposite IME college and rammed into the stationary truck, the SHO said.
According to the passers-by who rushed to the spot on seeing the mishap, the car was being driven at a very high speed, he said.
Anurag and Hina have been admitted to a hospital, Yadav said, adding, the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection, he said.
According to preliminary investigation, the car in which the youth were travelling had a fake number plate and was stolen from Jagatpuri in Delhi and that the owner, identified as Satnam Singh, had lodged a car theft complaint in Delhi earlier.
