A 20-year-old girl Hina from New Seemapuri and another woman died today from Dengue fever in Ghaziabad
Hina's uncle Sikander Ahmed alleged that she was admitted to Shreya hospital in Shalimar Garden colony of Sahibabad eight days due to symptoms of high fever and stomach ache.
Her condition deteriorated over the week and she was finally put on a ventilator. She died this morning due to dengue and multi-organ failure, according to hospital doctors.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashish Srivastava said that the girl's brother Karim Khan, has alleged ill-treatment and apathy of doctors who attending her.
Shakti Devi, 42, was admitted to the hospital on September 22. Her family says she had Dengue, but rebutting their claim, District Malaria Officer Dr Gyanendra Mishra said that she died of an acute viral syndrome with multi organ failure, instead of dengue.
Clinical reports of all suspected dengue patients admitted in various private hospitals have been summoned by the Chief Medical Officer.
"Hospitals reluctant to provide the reports to district health department will be penalised," Dr Mishra said.
Over 20 deaths have been reported in Delhi, which is facing its worst Dengue crisis in five years.
