Ghaziabad:
A college student, injured in a road accident in Chiroda area of Loni district three days ago, today died, prompting his friends and relatives to block GT Road in Ghaziabad, demanding compensation, police said.
Furkan, student of L R college in Ghaziabad, was injured along with his two friends Shaakir and Azad in a mishap on May 15, following which all three were admitted to a hospital, police said.
Furkan succumbed in hospital on Saturday, after which his friends and relatives blocked the G T road, demanding compensation of Rs 5 lakh, they said.
The blockade lasted for nearly two hours, leading to a heavy traffic jam, they said, adding, it was lifted after police reached the spot and assured the protestors that their demand would be looked into.
