Court orders police to register case against four for fraud

Ghaziabad: A local court on Friday ordered Sahibabad police to register a case against four persons for illegally selling a house using forged documents.

The magistrate ordered police to frame charges under Sections 477 (fraudulent cancellation), 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC against Naresh Kapoor, Ramesh Kapoor, Dimple Kapoor and Vikash Varshney.

The complaint against the accused was lodged by one Atul Gupta, a resident of Sahibabad area.

Mr Gupta's lawyer Khalid Khan said Naresh Kapoor along with the three others had entered into an agreement with his client for a house which was already mortgaged.

Mr Gupta gave Rs six lakhs in advance, but the accused did not register the property in his name.

The petitioner also claimed in his complaint that the accused took 23 lakhs from him and that he was beaten and intimidated when he asked for the money to be returned back.

Despite informing the Sahibabad Police, no FIR was registered forcing Gupta to appeal to the court.
