Ghaziabad: An eight-year-old girl was abducted, raped and abandoned on railway track here, police said on Friday.
The incident came light on Friday morning after the injured girl managed to return home and inform her parents, who filed a police complaint.
The girl, a resident of of Arthala area, left home to buy groceries from a nearby shop when an unidentified man abducted her and took her towards a deserted area near the Delhi-Kolkata railway track where he raped the girl and fled, leaving her badly injured and unconscious.
"The culprit is unidentified. A case has been registered and police are hunting for the accused," said Inspector Devi Ram Gautam of Sahibabad police station.
