Ghaziabad:
An executive and an accountant were found brutally killed in Hapur town of Ghaziabad district on Sunday, police said.
35-year-old Ajay Sharma, a senior executive with the finance division of Eicher in Delhi and 27-year-old Piyush Gupta, an accountant with a rice trader, were found in a car with their throats slashed.
According to police, Ajay and Piyush had left their offices in Delhi for their respective houses in Shivpuri area in Hapur town on Saturday night.
Around 11.30 p.m., Ajay had called up his family and told them that he was on the way home and would reach home within 15 minutes. The family waited for him but he did not return.
Early Sunday, they started a search for him but there was no trace of him.
However, it was a farmer, going to his fields near Dhanora village at 5.30 a.m, who noticed a stationary car on the road. On investigating, he saw two men lying dead in the car and blood all over the vehicle. He then alerted the police.
A dog squad and finger-printing experts were sent to the spot to lift samples for forensic examination.
The assailants had also tried to set the car on fire by igniting the fuel tank but failed in their attempt, police sources said.
"It seems to a blind case. The two had left together and suddenly they disappeared. There are no clues as of now. But we are investigating the case on some vital points. We are trying to link the sequence of events after the two left their offices in Delhi," said Deputy Superintendent of Police Kapil Dev.
