Ghaziabad:
A Ghaziabad court on Sunday directed officials to register a criminal case against 25 police personnel for allegedly looting the house of a murder accused while conducting a raid.
The directive was given after Magan Devi, mother of Vinod Kumar, an accused in the murder of Ghaziabad municipal councillor Sachin Chaudhary, moved the court last month against the 25 police personnel.
She alleged that on July 27, a police party headed by sub-inspector Ram Sen had looted Rs 59,000 and gold ornaments worth over Rs three lakh while conducting a raid at her house.
In her petition, she alleged the personnel had also damaged property worth over Rs 5 lakh.
She claimed she had complained to the police about the matter but no action was taken.
