Ghaziabad: A TV news channel employee was allegedly abducted and robbed at gunpoint by six unidentified persons in Indirapuram area in Ghaziabad, police said today.
Abhishek Kumar, a guest co-coordinator with the channel was abducted and robbed at gun point by six persons last night when he was going home from his office situated in Film City area of Noida, they said.
"We have registered a case and all six accused would be arrested soon," said a senior police officer.
The incident took place around 11.45 pm when the 26-year-old TV employee, a resident of Vaishali, Sector 4, was going to his house in his car, the officer said.
Giving details of the incident, Kumar said, "When I reached near Sabzimandi last night, I spotted six persons near a gypsy. They asked me to stop my car. Thereafter, one of the accused suddenly took out a gun and put it in my mouth and asked me to shift to the passenger seat.
"Three accused sat in my car while other three were escorting them in a gypsy. They also threatened to shoot me if I resisted or raised an alarm," he said.
"After driving around for an hour, they fled with Rs 2,000, a gold ring and a tablet, leaving me behind in my car," he said.
